DIY Halloween {Sneak Peak of Harper’s Batgirl Costume}

Classic Batgirl? What does that even mean?…

I knew that I wanted Harper’s first Halloween costume to be a DIY project but had no clue as to what I wanted it to be. I love tutus so I at least knew that whatever costume we chose would have a tutu as the base. My ideas ranged from Iridessa or Tinkerbell to a mouse. Because my hubby is a comic book nerd (i say that with pride), he thought that Batgirl would be a cute costume. Cool. I started looking for black and yellow tulle, felt and onesies until he dropped the “classic” part.

I had to Google it. Classic Batgirl has a purple and yellow costume. (insert sigh)

Do you know how hard it’s going to be to find a onesie and tulle that are the purples I need?
It shouldn’t be that hard.

It was that hard. Thankfully, some inexpensive Gerber onesies and fabric dye solved the problem.

She was invited to a friend’s costume, birthday party so I snapped a few photos. We’re going out with another family on Halloween so she’ll wear her mask then.

More pictures to come…

What DIY projects are you working on?

Breathing and Enjoying Life

Hey y’all! I hope that everyone is doing well! I have missed blogging and social media in general but with so many life changes in the past year…I needed to regroup.
Pregnancy complications
Preterm labor
New mom stress
Balancing life as a working mom
Whine. Whine. Whine. Right?
We all go through tough times, but I deal with it by shutting down. I have wonderful blogger friends and TONS of support in my “real” life
I retreat until I’m ready to deal.
I’m working on it.
I have soooo many more changes coming up. A lot of them pertaining to the blog and what direction I want to go in. I’ve restocked sewing supplies, but I’ve been working on some other projects as well. I can’t wait to share! It’s gonna be good. Ha!
Because I like preparing for holidays in advance, I made a free printable for y’all!
I hope y’all like it! Please let me know if it doesn’t print correctly or if anything else goes awry.
It’s my first time.

Who’s sipping on a cup of pumpkin spice latte or dreaming of one?!

Baby Brain

I’ve been baby crazy for the last few months. KA-razy! The Boy holds his breath when a pregnant woman is within 20 feet of us because he gets “the look” from me. My right eyebrow arches into my hairline and I start looking from said pregnant lady to The Boy (its the silent form of “do you see what I’m seeing”). I know that we aren’t ready yet because there are a few things on our list we want to cross off before we seriously contemplate parenthood. With that said…here are some really cute ideas for parents or wannabes like me.

I think that most people would get a kick out of seeing how their interests developed throughout the years. Plus Zoot is a complete riot!
This is pure genius! I dont have any kids *cough* but seeing the activity around new moms makes me love this idea. I could only imagine taking care of a newborn and entertaining a toddler at the same time! Seriously, if you have someone in your life who is expecting check this out. I have a few to make myself!
This is probably my favorite baby announcement ever! Its simple and playful. My only problem…I wouldn’t be able to hold that secret long enough to announce it cleverly.
Happy Monday!
Are you baby crazed also?
